The Cabusao wetland, perfect Tourist spot for Bird Watchers and Adventurous people
Last February 2, 2010 The local news in the Philippines reported about a Wild Birds often seen in the Wetlands of Cabusao, Camarines Sur Philippines, The Department of Environment and Natural resources also reported it the following day, They discovered it during their Annual Bird Census in the entire Country.
A Senior Ecosystems Management Specialists was surprised about the sightings of Whimbrels because they were not being seen in the past annual census.
Whimbrels can fly for 4000 kilometers in a non-stop flight, A whimbrels diet is Fiftler Crabs and shore worms, Available for them in Cabusao Wetland
DENR said that this could help Asian Waterbird Census Report, This kind of Migratory birds can be protected while they are in Cabusao Wetland.
Cabusao Wetland have its 27- Hectare area, Have 20 species of Wild birds, 17 Mangrove species 11 types of grass and other kind of species. Department of Environment of Natural Resources have achieved this goal making the site as a Critical habitat for Migratory birds

Here in "Image 1", You can see the straight small path, it will lead you to the Cabusao Wetland, By just walking, you can see some wild birds lurking near the path, just don't make a loud noise so you can take of them. I'm a litlle bit observant while driving my motorcycle, it seems they are not afraid of people. They just roam around, look for food. An opportunity for Bird watchers and photographers.
"Image 2", As we go nearer to the place, the more trees and wild grass we can see, Nice wind too, so cool and refreshing, a stress reliever.
"Image 3" Here it is, The entrance to Cabusao wetland, as you can see in the photo, there is a swamp (Right side) and the manmade bamboo bridge leading you to the place (Left side)
"Image 4" The man made Bamboo bridge leading you to the wetland where you can see the wild birds :)

"Image 6" A signage says, THIS WAY TO BIRD HIDE 220 METERS, While we are walking we saw some flock of birds flying.

"Image 8" It looks like a paint, Isn't? But this is the path you must walk to get the Bird Hide.
A newly made cottage for tourists who want to visit the Bird Hide, you can also enjoy here the Summer breeze during summer, A nature friendly area, A garbage free, well maintained by the attendants of the Wetland.

How beautiful it is to do Bird watching, while you are in Bicol, Philippines. You can enjoy the fresh air, friendly people, Less traffic, and etc.
Good for Photographers too, The have a beautiful scenery to choose from, for a bird watchers, they can get some details 20+ kind of Migratory birds rarely seen in different country.
For Bicolanos, Try to visit the place, you don;t know that you have a beautiful place to enjoy, a stress free for tourists, family, for everybody!
very beautiful place, and biologically diverse! I especially like the solitude and how quiet the place is. There are many bird species, but as a marine scientist I was more interested in the intertidal area which is really very productive. I can see why birds like the area, plenty of food.
